pottmaxxx If you are over the age of forty, your stretches should be held for sixty seconds. Muscles become less limber as you age, so it is wise to adjust your workout to keep on top of these changes. Whatever fitness routine you choose, be sure to include cardio-vascular exercise. Staying heart and lung healthy is extremely important, and a cardio workout will do just that for your body. Try to do 30 minutes of cardio or aerobic exercise at least 3 times a week. This can take the form of running, biking, using a treadmill or elliptical trainer, or swimming. Remember not to overdo it. If you find yourself short of breath, you should take a break until your heart rate slows down. Add resistance training to your exercise plan. Resistance training helps build muscle. The more muscle you have in your body, the more quickly and efficiently you can burn calories. Resistance bands or light weights are good options for working out at home. You can also use your own body weight to provide resistance. Exercises, such as push-ups and squats, make your muscles bear the weight of your body and that builds strength. If you are trying to exercise more ,you do not have to spend hours on the treadmill or elliptical. Try a new sport or brush up on unused skills. You could take tennis lessons, join a community softball team, or take up swimming. Not only will you learn something new, but your fitness level will increase and you may get social benefits as well. Warming up your muscles prior to an intense exercise workout is an important step to incorporate in your fitness program. The body needs to increase the blood flow to muscle and joints slowly and before the exercise begins so that the muscles will not be strained or forced to perform beyond the muscle's capabilities. Some fitness experts consider a warm-up as a lube job for the muscles. To maximize the benefits of your bench-press routines, try to squeeze the bar inward when you are doing your presses. This will cause more of your chest muscles to work harder. Change to squeezing outward when doing the close-grip version of a bench-press to work your triceps much harder. Chin ups can be a great way to build upper body strength. A good way to do this exercise is to imagine yourself pulling your elbows down instead of you thinking about pulling yourself up. This will make the exercise seem easier and you will be able to do more.
